This is what I wrote last night when I outed this bike...

"Not related to the seller, but I have talked to him. What ever you do, do not call or e-mail him with silly, picky, ridiculous request! He already has a very poor opinion of us Masi-philes... to be honest can we blame him"

I agree with Nick 100%!!! I read some of the post on this when I got home tonight and to be honest I was not surprised. I took a lot of pictures at the Crique "06 and when it was mentioned that the sellers (Norm) bikes were there a light went on. I did remember the back row of the hall had a bunch of red bikes in a row. Starting with 3 Masi's then at least on Colnago. I took a picture of the bikes and have just found it and posted it to wooljersey

If you look closely, and search your memory banks you would realize that the first bike is the 70-71 GC, which was sold last night as a frame only. Next to that is the 73 #23 GC, and then comes the "80's Masi Crest fork Crown" on an 80's bike. Now what is correct is that the 73 and the 80's bike have there tags switched. Probably an easy thing to do when your dealing with 5 or 6 bikes to set up and your not an "expert". Now I am not tring to jump on anyones case, especialy jack who stressed a big "IF" when he brought up the point of the confused bikes. It is just that we seem to have a mob mentality and something that starts of as a question ends up a fact.

I talked to Norm last night because I bought the 70-71 GC and had a question that I did not phrase right and I kind set him off. But once I explained what I was trying to find out and why, he calmed down and was very forthcoming about the bike and what he knew and did not know about it. I don't think it helped that I called after 10 pm on a Sunday night, to me it was only 7. He has also had some truly ridiculous encounters with some Masi-philes. That is why I posted the warning about being careful what you ask. Once again I am not pointing a finger at anyone, because I know I have formed some bad opinions before I am fully informed. I just tend not to say anything because I feel there are many out there that know a lot more than I do. In this case I felt a resposiblity to say something because I outed the bike, and I had some experience with the Norm.

I would just like to say that in no way am I claiming to know weather the bike is genuine or not, but if it were a little smaller or if I had not already exceeded my allowance I would go for it!
