A friend has somewhat "inherited" an old store. the previous owners evidently went TU and simply locked the door and walked away. He either HAS, or will be getting, possesion of the contents of the store and he told me that the place has, in his words, "A bunch of old bikes in there!". this may or may NOT mean anything. Or at least anything POSITIVE. But if anyone is near me in Eastern Iowa, maybe we can arrange to help him HAUL THEM TO THE DUMP! which is his intention. He says tht he plans to borrow a dump truck and toss EVERYTHING in the store and begin restoration on the building. the roof leaked and the bikes are not in great shape. he says the tires are rotted and they are rusty. Is there ANY interest at all in these? I want to see if I can grab a couple at least, he says the store ceased operations "30-40 years ago" which would be 60's 70's and it is in a small rural Iowa community that dried up.
If anyone is interested and can come help haul the junk away there MIGHT (and I do NOT promise anything!) be soemthign worthwhile in there. I may simply tell Terry that I will come help him with the clean up one weekend. He won't be able to get actual possesion for a couple of months so there is time!
