The process for hearts in the lugs would have been to pantograph them, not have the hearts cast into the lugs. I know that that's the way the spades were cut in Mario Confente's lugs... the lugs were sent off to a pantograph place in Van Nuys, CA that did aircraft instrument panels etc.
