The other advantage of the corded variety of Dremel is that you can attach a foot-pedal riostat. I have an ancient Dremel (from my dad) which may very well be one of the earliest models made. My old man attached a foot-pedal to it which is very useful for varying speeds as well as shutting off by simply removing my foot from the pedal. I feel I have greater control while cleaning and polishing with the foot pedal.
