This winter I purchased a MKM frameset listed as a 1975 MKM (Metcalf/Kitchin/Mason)Reynolds 531 double butted steel road frame & fork. Could any list members provide me with anymore information on this frameset -- the particular model, and any other info about its build (like the make of the lugs/crown, etc.). Also, does anyone have, or could create a scan of, a MKM catalog or advertisemtnets?
After I picked it up the frameset, its original owner provided me with the following information in a follow-up email that be of interest to list members. "I got the frame direct from MKM when I was in the Dinnington Road Club that was sponsored by a local building contractor. The whole team bought matching frames from MKM. The team member who organized the team and the sponsorship was a friend of Metcalfe and Mason. That team member is Dave Marsh who now runs a bike shop in the Rotherham/Sheffield area of England."
