The Clement Evolution was, indeed, a "tubular clincher" similar to Tufo's version. Having recently discovered in the MPI warehouse a display case of little sections of all of Clements tires from this time period, I've learned that there were three different versions of this type tire, Evolution, CF 2001 and Gypsy. They are all slightly different, and the CF 2001 has a PSI rating of 100. Interestingly, the Gypsy has no PSI rating indicated. I don't yet know if they had specific rim requirements or recommendations. One of the things I have not yet had the time to go through are all the original manufacturers catalogs and spec sheets that I've acquired, so more detailed information is probably available, I just have to dig for it.
I will have the Clement sample display, along with lots of other interesting vintage display and promotional material on display at the Cirque.
