Hello All. List members Jim McCoin, Guy Apple and meself stopped by to visit Dennis at Stones Cyclery in Alameda Ca. We were present for the opening of a just arrived box that contained one of those new Bates frames that we have heard so much about. An electric blue frame slowly emerged from the cardboard and bubble wrap. What greeted us was a superbe example of British craftsmanship. The lugs, B.B., forkcrown and droppouts did not escape Ron Coopers attention to detail. The lugs and crown are very ornate and detailed, yet to my taste they dont look overdone, they beg for closer examination. We thought about the components we would use if it were our bike- TA Cyclotourist or TA Criterium. Campag longreach sps
