Ah, the Masi influence.

Okay, my explanation. Wasn't the fluted masi seat stay a precast item that attached to a square cut seat stay end? Wasn't one main purpose of the 3V internal lug design to eliminate the need for mitre cuts? Aren't these cool looking dropouts designed to eliminate mitre cuts? Sure speeds up the building process when you don't have to do fish mouth mitre cuts and be perfect with your brazing and filing. Wasn't masi really trying to make frame building easier and faster?
