not the case in my experience - i spin one about once a year over the last 5 years - which i guess really isnt all that common, when you take into account that i put around 15k miles onto an aw every year. eventually, the tabs just shear and the cog ends up grinding around the driver. second most common part i wear out on my aw hubs - first is the indicator spindle, which eventually strips out inside the hub. im geared 44/16, which i dont think of as all that low, especially considering that i rarely use the low gear...

granted, its not an asc, which, being a fixed has a whole different set of inputs - but id just much rather run the 12-spline type driver than the 3-spline on an asc based on my experience with the aw...

just seems that much more positive a fixture for a fixed wheel, and with fixies, i like things positive :)
