Agreed. My entirely self-serving interest in having the 20 year window continue to march onward is so my 1984 Trek becomes an honored guest instead of a loner that juuuuust missed the deadline. The 1982 Trek is already showing Mr. 1984 some attitude.
Self-interest aside, I think there's a gray area in the early to mid-80s that covers a lot of interesting, potentially kindred spirit bikes.
But it's Dale's party, and whatever direction we turn at this fork in the road, I'll toe the line.
