Mike,

Finally got a look at your Singer (http://www.cyclart.com/cgi-bin/miva?Merchant2/merchant.mv+Screen=PROD&Store_Code=C&Product_Code=AVL-7498&Category_Code=AVL)). Nice bike! However, it seems to me that the front rack was built originally for a different bike. It slopes, but more telling, the fender attachment screw (in the middle) sits so high that a fender attached to this screw would not pass under the fork crown. Assuming your bike is built for 700C, the front rack looks to me like it was built for a 27" bike with longer fork legs. The upper rack attachments seem to be bent a bit more than on Mark Petry's similar bike, too.

What do you think?

However, that said, it's a nice bike, and I think you priced it very reasonably. -- Jan Heine, Seattle Editor/Publisher Vintage Bicycle Quarterly http://www.mindspring.com/~heine/bikesite/bikesite/
