Don't know if this will answer your ? on saddles. Viscount appears to be the OEM mfg for Avocet. My original 02 40 Ti saddle that is aprox 15 years old is made by Avocet (Italy) w/ no viscount markings or logos.
About 2 weeks ago I was at my LBS looking for another for my TT bike. They pulled out a box w/ about 50 brand new saddles. All were wrapped but not boxed. Markings were all viscount / avocet. No one could tell me how old the saddles were, but I am guessing they are pretty new.
There are some minor cosmetic differences between the old and new, but to me the new Avocet/Viscount 02 40 feels the same as the old one.
