I have a COMPLETE 1972 Raleigh USA catalogue. The one in the archives is not complete. However, even the COMPLETE catalogue does NOT list a Raleigh Competition.

HOWEVER, there have recently been several blue & white raleigh "competition" bikes on ebay, that match the raleigh gransport from the 1972 catalogue very closely, EXCEPT for the gear system (zeus) and wheels (tubulars). The 1972 gransport was a normandy hubs / gb bars / gb stem / weinmann 27" / simplex / zeus crankset / b-17 saddle / reynolds 531 db main tubes, plain gauge rear triangle beast. I believe the competition was similar, with tubular tires (probably AVA), and zeus derailleurs.

Here is a picture of a 1971 raleigh competition.

The TA professional cranksets and huret jubilee derailleurs did not appear until later.
