I recently acquired a vintage Pino cartridge BB unit and am contemplating how best to make use of it. It's an interesting beast; sealed bearings and a steel spindle (and aluminum bolts with 1/2" heads!) in a threaded aluminum cylinder, with aluminum lockrings on each end. The threading on the cartridge itself is standard right-hand 1.37x24tpi all along the cartridge, so it obviously can't be threaded into a standard English thread BB shell. I'm thinking that it would probably slip into an Italian shell (or reamed English/French shell) and simply use the lockrings to hold it in place. Is anyone here familiar with the Pino BB that can confirm this?
