Well, "provenance" might be a French word but I suspect its meaning wasn't entirely appreciated at the LeJeune facility in Maisons-Alfort. But as I've mentioned elsewhere, I still enjoy their bicycles.

One of the more amusing aspects of visiting their facility in 1983 was the little museum like area of the showroom. One bike on display was a racing machine from the late 1940s or early '50s which was clearly built before Monsieur LeJeune had started up his company. Yet this bike had (then) modern LeJeune decals applied to its frame. I suppose you were free to interpret it any way you pleased... Cheers, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia (USA)
