RE: Cyclo Benelux 3,4,5 Speed (1950)

If this information is any help, in the 1950 Cyclo Gear Catalog (REF 50), the Cyclo Benelux page (ten) shows six gearing options. The orange-inked catalog tagline for this 1949 design was: "3, 4 or 5 speed - the newest, simplest, most adaptable gear for every requirement".

* Standard Cyclo 3-speed Freewheel (Pointed Form Teeth) for 1/2" x 1/8" chain only * 4-speed Cyclo Freewheel (Pointed Form Teeth) for 1/2" x 1/8" chain only * Benelux Boss type 3-speed Freewheel (Square Form Teeth) for 1/2" x 1/8" chain * Benelux Boss type 4-speed Freewheel (Square Form Teeth) for 1/2" x 1/8" chain * Benelux Boss type 4-speed Freewheel (Square Form Teeth) for 1/2" x 3/32" chain * Benelux 5-speed Freewheel (Square Form Teeth) for 3/32" Chain only

I realize this predates the Mark 7 - but it introduces the 1949 Benelux and its marketed design goal.

I haven't followed this thread but I would mention that my 1958 Ron Kit catalogue reads:- when ordering mechanisms only please specify 3 or 4 X 1/8 or 4 or 5 X 3/32. A 1956 mag contains an advert. for Cyclo Benelux ten speed gearing. Ray Green, Brighton, England
