GITANE "Tour de France", circa 1971-72, frame and fork constructed of Reynolds 531. Simplex drop outs front and rear. Included are the original Stronglight bottom bracket and head set. Frame measures 58 cm C-t-C. Overall the cosmetic condition is very good. There a number of expected chips to the paint surface (white is an easy touch up color) but no dents or dings. Decals/Transfers are in good condition with the exception of the Reynolds 531 seat tube decal which is mostly gone. Chrome is in very good shape with no corrosion. There is some faint hazing (not corrosion) to the chain stay chrome. Seat stay chrome is fine. The bottom bracket has been removed since the photos were taken as it came with a spindle for a Triple crank set. I have replaced it with a "BRAND NEW" 118 mm Stronglight spindle for use with the standard Double. This will be shipped with the frame but will require it being reinstalled. The head set might also need to be serviced at the same time. Takes a 26.4 mm seat post and will accept a 22.2 mm stem. Price is $175.00 plus actual shipping cost (to be determined by your USA location). I estimated approx. $40 from Virginia to the West Coast by UPS, including insurance.
