Hi Mark,

Being very much a non-expert on Masi, I can only say the chainring comes from the 'Masi that wants to be a Gazelle', thats in my wooljersey album: http://wooljersey.com/gallery/Freeks-racefietsen/Masi/

I found that bike over 2 years ago, and posted about it on the list then, some discussion and of course comments from Bob Hovey followed. The frame really is a (Italian) Masi, the panto'd parts are (or seem at least) original to the bike, and thus Masi. But thats all I know really.
