Jerry, that's a good point about looking for other bike build clues to distinguish between a Claud Butler Avant Coureur and a New Allrounder for the serial number build months in 1950 around the time of the November Earls Court Show. John Betmanis mentions other clues to seek. I would guess that a point-by-point study of the catalogues and bikes that emerge over time would elucidate that for the dedicated enthusiast (like Robert Broderick for Mondias!).

For bikes with the hatchet-shaped bilaminate lug design that transitioned from the Avant Coureur to the New Allrounder, we can guess that Jan to October-ish 1950 serial numbers would be Avant Coureur, and then November-ish to December 1950 serial numbers would be New Allrounder. The cutover would not be known to us, so other clues would be useful for bike serial numbers dated in October and November 1950 with that distinctive hatchet lug design on the head tube.
