> I have what I've been told is a Stronglight 49D crankset & what is alleged to be a crank puller for the same. The puller won't thread into the crank arms although the dust caps work fine. Other than the obvious (one of the afore mentioned items not being what it is claimed to be) is there anything else to consider before/while talking to the sellers?

a sloppy fit is fine for the dustcaps, but the puller should fit precise, it could be just some dirt and that the puller doesn't offer much grip for your fingers. TA pullers (23 x 1) or standard pullers (22 x1) have a smaller diameter than original stronglight 23.35 x 1. And didn't have the last 49D's normal puller threads?
